What Is a BIT Inspection?<\/h3>\n

A BIT Inspection, technically known as the Basic Inspection of Terminals, is a program under the California Highway Patrol (CHP)<\/a>. This program necessitates motor carrier terminal inspection within a 25-month cycle to enhance the safety of highway users.<\/p>\n

What Happens During a BIT Inspection?<\/h3>\n

A BIT Inspection covers competency areas like driver license examination, maintenance records and inspection reports, and hours of service documentation.<\/p>\n

                  Betts Truck Parts & Service performs BIT Inspections in Sacramento, San Leandro, Fresno, Fontana, Sun Valley (CA), and Santa Fe Springs, California.                   Are California BIT Inspections Biennial?<\/h4><\/i><\/div>

                  California legislation at the start of 2016 altered the previous \u201cBiennial Inspection of Terminals\u201d regulation.<\/p>\n

                  Following this change, inspections are no longer biennial. CHP can inspect a terminal whenever it chooses.<\/p>\n

                  Terminals that receive a “satisfactory” rating may only be inspected every few years. Terminals that receive an “unsatisfactory” rating will be re-inspected by CHP within 120 days.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
